Berkeley, the Navajo Nation, Mexico and Philadelphia have passed historic policies to support health equity in their passage of sugary drink taxes. Will Boulder be next? Join us for a lively lunch-time conversation with food justice advocate and Berkeley resident, Anna Lappé, to discuss the Healthy Boulder Kids measure.
We’ll watch a short film on the Berkeley vs. Big Soda campaign and engage in conversation to explore your questions. Why are these campaigns such powerful tools for community health? What worked in Berkeley and why? How is the soda industry responding? How can our local Healthy Boulder Kids measure addresses environmental, health, and food activism issues?
Get your questions answered about the Boulder measure, connect with others in our community and learn about how you can be involved in this exciting campaign.
Lunch will not be served, but is available for purchase from SEEDS cafe in the library. Please arrive 15 minutes early to purchase your lunch at the cafe to bring into the talk. Brown bag is also welcome!
