Anita Chitaya is a farmer in Malawi whose village has been damaged by the effects of climate change. To save her home, Anita travels to America to persuade farmers, activists, and legislators that the time for action is now.
This documentary, ten years in the making, weaves together the most urgent themes of our times: climate change, gender and racial inequality, the gaps between the rich and the poor, and the ideas that groups around the world have generated in order to save the planet.
Filmmakers Raj Patel, Zak Piper, and Alamo Drafthouse Founder Tim League will tour The Ants & the Grasshopper with special guests (like Anna Lappé on Saturday, 4/01 in San Francisco) in select Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas across the country beginning Friday, March 31st.
